 Ocean Health Initiatives (OHI) is non-profit 501(c)3 Federal Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides comprehensive preventative and primary health and dental care to the uninsured, underinsured, homeless and undocumented populations in Ocean County, NJ. The health center has been treating patients for more than one decade, formally organizing as OHI in 2003. In 2008, OHI provided healthcare and dental services to 14,530 patients and recorded 57,518 encounters. OHI increases access to care for these populations by using an affordable, sliding scale fee, and by serving patients regardless of their ability to pay.
OHI operates two service delivery sites in Lakewood and Toms River, and also operates a Mobile Health Unit, which services rural areas of the county, schools, senior housing communities, and the homeless. |
