NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR CHAMBER BOARD SEATS
Nominations of Chamber Members for Board of Directors Seats will be accepted for consideration by the Chamber no later than February 5, 2010. Nominees must be paid up members in good standing, having served on a committee for at least a year and have a general interest in the Chamber’s goals and objectives for a healthy business climate in our service area. Each nominee must be endorsed by ten (10) signatures of Chamber Members in good standing.

OCEAN COUNTY’s Freeholder John C. Bartlett, Jr. recently unveiled plans for a new park in Brick Township on the northwest side of the Mantoloking Bridge. A spit of land located on the Barnegat Bay will be crafted into this park that will include lighted paths, a boardwalk, benches, 2 multi-use piers, a clam hatchery, gazebo, a bait cutting and fish cleaning station and interpretive exhibits. The County will be going out for bid at the beginning of 2010.
OCEAN COUNTY LIBRARY continues to promote literacy by offering conversation groups to those people just learning to speak English. DR. RON ROTEM has announced winners in his 5th Halloween Candy Buy-back Contest. The winner is 6 year old Giovanni Iannarone, Toms River who brought in the most candy – 14 pounds for which he received a $50.00 check. IBEW Local 400, Wall assists Dr. Rotem ship the candy to troops overseas.
OCEAN HEALTH INITIATIVES (OHI) has received a grant of $5,000.00 from TD Charitable Foundation toward OHI’s “Childbirth Education Classes for the Under-served” Project. OHI is initiating an 8-Week program for prenatal education to assist those least likely to receive prenatal care. OHI recently welcomed Jacqueline Rooney, Howell, a NJ and PA Certified and Licensed Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to its staff.
